Evelone2004 passes Ironmouse to become the second most subscribed Twitch streamer of all time
Evelone2004 is a streamer who has gained popularity due to his coverage of the recently finished Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Esports tournament. This was a Counter-Strike 2-focused tournament. To those unaware, a Major Championship, also known simply as a Major, is an official Esports tournament that Valve (CS2's developer) sponsors.
Having an official status and being recognized by Valve (also the company behind the game marketplace Steam) means that the winners receive a much bigger prize pool than third-party tournaments. As such, the PWE Shanghai Major 2024 had a prize pool of a whopping $1,250,000 USD.
The event was scheduled to be held between November 30, 2024, and December 15, 2025. The special broadcasts covering the tournament seem to have given Evelone2004 an exponential boost in subscribers.
The most subscribed Twitch content creator of all time is still Kai Cenat, who reached the number one spot after hosting a month-long subathon in November 2024. Dubbed Mafiathon 2, the subathon saw multiple appearances of celebrities from across industries, including hip-hop artists, TikTok personalities, and actors. Cenat's all-time subscriber count record is 728,535.
