A clip of Ukrainian Twitch streamer Stariy_Bog has gone viral after he was caught offguard by what he claims to be a Russian missile strike while he was livestreaming Dota 2. The video, which circulated on platforms like X on August 28, 2024, was shared widely, with esports personality Jake Lucky's post on the incident racking up over half a million views within just a few hours.

A screenshot from Stariy_Bog's Telegram account has also been doing the rounds, in which he claimed that the loud explosion was a Russian missile strike in his neighborhood. In the post, the content creator expressed concern for the victims of the alleged attack, acknowledging that while he couldn't comment on their conditions, he believed there must have been casualties.

"As many of you have already seen, right on the stream, a Russian missile flew into a civilian facility in my city. Very close to me. There is no information about the victims yet, but unfortunately, there are definitely victims. I sympathize with all the victims and their relatives."

Watch: Ukrainian Twitch streamer's Dota broadcast gets interrupted by a blast

Since the Russo-Ukrainian conflict began in 2022, footage of missile strikes and bomb blasts has been widely shared online.

As mentioned, on August 28, 2024, a clip from Stariy_Bog’s Dota 2 livestream on Twitch went viral when a loud explosion was heard in the background. Concerned by the noise, the streamer paused his game and checked to see what had happened, though his internet and electricity remained unaffected.

The alleged missile strike captured on Stariy_Bog’s Twitch broadcast seemingly coincides with the recent Russian bombings of the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih. Reports suggest multiple civilians have lost their lives as a result of the incident.

This incident follows a similar event from last year when a Ukrainian streamer’s broadcast of World of Warcraft captured the sound of explosions in Kyiv. The clip resonated widely, drawing sympathy for the civilians caught in the crossfire.
