A clip of Rachell "Valkyrae" addressing Kai Cenat's recent prank attempt on Twitch has sparked considerable attention on social media. For context, on January 12, 2025, Cenat tried to prank Valkyrae on the streaming platform, but the plan failed because his fans refused to follow his instructions.

Cenat came across Valkyrae's Twitch stream on the day and decided to prank her. The streamer asked his chat to go to the broadcast and spam "leaked." However, to his surprise, his viewers said Valkyrae was too wholesome and did not do as they were told.

While the prank failed, Kai Cenat has faced some backlash, with figures like xQc suggesting that his attempt was inappropriate, despite it not happening.

During her Twitch stream on January 13, 2025, Valkyrae acknowledged the criticism Cenat was facing, especially after he gifted her some subscriptions. She emphasized that she knew Cenat had no ill intentions behind the prank:

"Thank you so much. Listen, listen, listen. I know you are getting a little bit cooked right now because of the prank. But I know you didn't have any ill intentions."

Valkyrae added that she had considered starting a prank war with Cenat before thanking him again for gifting the subscriptions:

"I thought we are going to start a prank war. But, thank you so much for the gifted. That's very sweet of you."

Kai Cenat's Valkyrae prank could have ended up with a Twitch ban, like the time JiDion was suspended for Pokimane controversy

It is clear from their online interactions that there is no bad blood between Valkyrae and Kai Cenat over the failed prank. However, this has not stopped the situation from becoming controversial as a few streaming personalities drew parallels between the prank and JiDion's 2022 Twitch ban for reportedly harassing Pokimane.

X user @chargeyyW reacted to a clip of Cenat asking his followers to spam Valkyrae's chat, claiming that Twitch didn't ban him like JiDion because of favoritism:

"Yet Jidion got permanently banned for this on Pokimane. Favoritism is showing again"

For those unaware, in January 2022, Twitch streamer JiDion asked his audience members to spam "L + Ratio" in Pokimane's chat while she was streaming Valorant. The constant spam led her to end her broadcast early, causing a lot of controversy.

Initially, Twitch issued JiDion a short ban, but it later extended to an indefinite suspension for breaking TOS for "extreme harassment."

However, it's important to note a key difference between the JiDion-Pokimane case and the Kai Cenat-Valkyrae prank: the latter didn't result in mass spamming in Valkyrae's chat, and she didn't have to end her stream. In fact, she has expressed her willingness to start a prank war with Cenat.

JiDion also reconciled with Pokimane within a month of the ban. However, Twitch maintained the ban for more than two years until it was finally lifted in May 2024.
