While streaming on January 13, 2025, Twitch streamer Chance "Sodapoppin" came across OnlyFangs guild member Thor "Pirate Software"'s post on X regarding the World of Warcraft Hardcore controversy. Sodapoppin appeared to agree with the post after reading about the death threats Pirate Software received, stating that viewers have gone "too far" with their criticism.

Over the last few days, many in the World of Warcraft community on Twitch have accused Pirate Software of "roaching out" and allowing other players to die during a raid in the game.

On January 13, 2025, Pirate Software addressed the situation on X with a lengthy post, explaining how he and his moderators have been subjected to death threats and various hateful comments from people across platforms since the incident.

After reading that Pirate Software received online threats, Sodapoppin agreed that viewers had gone too far in their efforts to punish the streamer. While acknowledging that the content creator's "play was terrible," Sodapoppin claimed things were becoming too extreme:

"'Each person made mistakes, including myself.' Okay. I mean, he's got a point. Viewers are going way too far with it. His play was terrible, he ratted out hard. Despite that people, it's getting crazy. It has gone really far."

Sodapoppin says hate towards Pirate Software since the World of Warcraft Hardcore controversy is getting "annoying"

Pirate Software has been subjected to a lot of criticism for his alleged actions in World of Warcraft, which supposedly led to the in-game deaths of two OnlyFangs members. The guild plays in the Hardcore mode, where deaths are permanent, meaning eliminated players would have to start over from scratch.

While addressing the controversy, the Twitch streamer noted that he and his team received a lot of online hate. In addition to death threats, people have allegedly attempted to get him banned from Twitch, the OnlyFangs guild, and World of Warcraft.

Sodapoppin witnessed an example of the hate firsthand when one of his audience members asked him to remove Pirate Software from the OnlyFangs guild. He sarcastically read out the message:

"'g/kick roach software', dude caps lock, hell yeah!"

Sodapoppin then called out the hate directed toward Pirate Software, describing it as increasingly annoying:

"It's getting to a point where it's like I completely agree that Pirate roached out and all the stuff. But, like, the blood that these viewers are wanting and the way they are, is making me f**king hate everyone on that side. They are just sad. It's getting so annoying how just annoying these people are getting."

As of now, it appears that Pirate Software will continue his World of Warcraft Hardcore streams as part of the OnlyFangs guild. However, many viewers hope he receives some form of punishment for the alleged "roaching."
