On his first stream after his stint at the LBA, Kai Cenat defended Ironmouse from haters and acknowledged how many people online have been talking badly about her for breaking his all-time Twitch subscriber record. However, the VTuber community has noted how Kai compared her with AI in a clip that has gone viral on social media.
In the clip shared by X user @scubaryan_, Kai Cenat notes how Ironmouse has been a powerhouse on Twitch and that he has had to surpass her streaming numbers. However, despite praising her, he compared Ironmouse with AI, which has ruffled some feathers in the VTuber community.
Twitch streamer and VTuber Serotina noted how there's a misconception about virtual avatars and claimed people would hate VTubers less if they knew about the amount of hard work that goes into the craft.
"Love the respect towards Ironmouse but man someone REALLY needs to teach Kai Cenat that vtubers =/= AI. I wish more people understood how much work goes into the design, art, cutting, rigging, AND tracking process that goes behind a vtuber model…maybe we’d finally get less hate," wrote @SerotinaVT.
Other VTubers echoed a similar sentiment about Kai's reaction.
"Kai Cenat gives credit where credit is DUE to Ironmouse. But just when I thought he understood everything perfectly he ends by saying “it was well put together..for Ai sh*t” We still got a bit more way to go gang. But hey goofy but kind at least," said @RimaEvenstar.
"The only thing that Kai got wrong in this clip is that Vtubers are not AI. But fair play to him for speaking out and making the effort to show respect for Ironmouse's history and what she's doing. A lot of his fans were completely out of order tbh. This is a good response," claimed @RibombeeTeacher.
What did Kai Cenat say about Ironmouse? AI comment about the VTuber explored
Kai Cenat first addressed Ironmouse breaking his Twitch subscriber record at one of his press conferences after a game at the LBA basketball league and congratulated the VTuber for getting over 306K concurrent active subs on the platform.
On his first stream back after retiring from professional basketball, Kai went on to defend Ironmouse from online haters, stating that the latter has always been one of the top streamers on Twitch:
"I've seen the majority of people hating on Ironmouse for breaking the record. When you first look at this sh*t, you probably are wondering to yourself, 'What the f**k, this is weird, how the f**k this sh*t even happen?' But guys, if you know your Twitch history and stuff, Ironmouse has always been top 5 of all time."
He kept on praising her:
"She has always been on the leaderboards all the time, she's not something new. She's somebody I had to pass through during my first subathon. She has always been on the leaderboard, she has BEEN there on Twitch."
However, this is he when made a comment comparing Ironmouse with an AI, and stated:
"I know a lot of people defend me and stuff like that, but chat if you actually looked at her stream and kept up with what she was doing. Not only was it for a good cause, but it was pretty well put together for, you know, AI sh*t."
Readers should note that while all VTubers are not AI-driven, certain content creators such as Neuro-sama, who are AI, do use virtual avatars for livestreaming on platforms such as Twitch and YouTube.
