On July 23, 2024, Twitch star Kai Cenat's friend, Ray, also known as "rayasianboy," garnered attention on social media after a clip in which he said the homophobic F-slur surfaced. Ray hosted his latest broadcast from New York City. He and his associates were dining at a restaurant when he called one of them out for sitting too close to him.
Expressing his displeasure, the Twitch streamer remarked:
"Yo! Why are you so close to me, bro? F**king fa**ot! ... I said fat a**! Yeah, it's my accent."
In response, the content creator's associate said:
"He called me a fa**ot. Oh, he called me fat a**. You know, it's his accent."
Following this interaction, Ray and his friends burst out laughing.
A 35-second clip from the broadcast was posted on the r/LivestreamFail subreddit, prompting responses from over 290 netizens. Redditor u/Swimming_Opinion_501's comment, in which they claimed that the W Community streamers were "not beating the homophobia allegations," drew over 844 upvotes.
"W streamers not beating the homophobia allegations..." said u/Swimming_Opinion_501.
Redditor u/Neoteric_Proselyte wondered whether the Amazon-owned platform bans streamers for 30 days for using the F-slur.
"Doesn't Twitch give out 30-day bans for the F-slur?" commented u/Neoteric_Proselyte.
Meanwhile, X user @fxckzinx stated that Ray "has no chill."
"Ray has no chill first the N-word now F-word," posted @fxckzinx.
X user @Ayan_212 voiced their dissatisfaction with the Twitch streamer's actions.
"These people need to stop streaming if they don't know how to keep their mouth shut," wrote @Ayan_212.
