FaZe Banks and fans have shared their reactions on social media to Nickmercs announcing his departure from FaZe Clan. The popular Twitch streamer had been part of the esports organization for almost five years, since joining in 2019. Nick explained that he had parted ways from the group in a post on X dated January 10. 2025.

Over the five years or so, Nickmercs has remained an integral part of the team as a popular Twitch streamer known for his FPS skills in games like Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and more. After FaZe Clan shared a post about the news on X, many fans reacted to it including the current CEO FaZe Banks.

Banks shared a photo of them from the past and stated that they had made "some history together":

"We definitely made some history together"

FaZe Banks wasn't the only one to praise Nickmercs, with fans and other esports personalities also reacting on social media to the news. Some called the former FaZe Clan member a GOAT.

"</3 the goat," wrote @Obijai.

Another X user called him a legend:

"Legend." proclaimed @lmJustCJ.

Some fans want FaZe Clan to produce a tribute in the departing streamer's honor:

"Man we need a tribute video," claimed @Dsa4teen.

Nickmercs thanked his followers and the members of FaZe for the outpouring of support:

"Fkn love yall."

"You joined FaZe at the worst possible time": FaZe Clan issues statement about Nickmercs' departure

A couple of hours after Nickmercs made his post about leaving FaZe Clan, the official X profile of the esports group shared a statement about the news, confirming that the popular Twitch and Kick streamer had indeed left the organization. The organization also had a message for the fans, and claimed that Nick had joined them at the "worst possible time", praising him for sticking with them for five years:

"NickMercs is officially no longer part of FaZe Clan - our message to Nick & MFAM: "NickMercs, you joined FaZe at the worst possible time. The fact we made it 5 years with you just goes to show what kind of a guy you are."

FaZe Clan celebrated his contributions to the organization, stating he was "one of the boys":

We clicked almost immediately and always felt like you were truly one of the boys. “Cut from the same cloth” if you will. You repped this FaZe sh*t and rode through the absolute worst period of its existence. F**king love you."

The statement then acknowledged that FaZe Clan has gone through some drastic changes in the last year or so. For context, the group saw big layoffs last year with many members either leaving or getting kicked from the group as per FaZe Banks' planned reboot.

As per the post, Nickmercs has been a huge supporter of the new direction despite not directly taking part in it due to his familial engagements:

"Obviously over the last year FaZe has taken a whole new direction and it has made less and less sense to keep Nick around. He’s been fully supportive of the new vision and been rooting on the comeback harder than anyone. That being said, he’s hard planted in Michigan building MFAM and taking care of his beautiful family."

FaZe Clan's message concluded after they wished the departing streamer all the best for his upcoming endeavors:

"It’ll always be nothing but love for you big guy. Best of luck in your future endeavors; we’re always here if you ever need our help."

For those unaware, Nickmercs is currently training to go pro in Apex Legends with a new squad as announced in September 2024.
