Mark, better known as ohnePixel on Twitch, is a prominent streamer in the Counter-Strike (CS) community. Born on May 11, 1998, in Germany, the streamer currently has over 1.4 million followers on Twitch. As a teenager, ohne discovered a deep passion for CS, which quickly became a major part of his life. Although he spent a lot of time playing the game, it was the in-game skins that truly fascinated him.
ohnePixel's interest in the CS skins economy grew, leading him to immerse himself fully in this aspect of the game. He recently made a move by signing and coaching Drillas, a professional Counter-Strike 2 team. This is his first venture into team ownership, and he had set his sights on qualifying for the Perfect World Shanghai Major, the second Valve-sponsored CS2 event of 2024.
On August 30, 2024, Drillas fulfilled their goal and qualified for the Shanghai Major. Mark reacted to his team making it through live on stream.
ohnePixel was over the moon as Ali "hAdji" from his team found himself a double kill, sealing their chance, and winning them a spot in the major:
"We're going to China... You GOATs, you f**king GOATs, absolute beasts!"
Drillas dominated their opponents, Onyx, defeating them 2-0, and winning their final map with a 13-1 scoreline. This is impressive considering the team made their debut only 10 days before their Shanghai qualification, at the Middle East RMR Open Qualifier.
ohnePixel's team "Drillas" qualified for the Shanghai Major
The 2024 Shanghai Major is a highly anticipated CS2 tournament, marking one of the first major events in the new Counter-Strike sequel. Teams from around the world, including ohnePixel's Drillas, competed for a spot, with the event taking place from November 11-14 in Shanghai.
Drillas includes prominent players like Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletnjuk and Vladyslav "Kvem" Korolj, The team initially managed to secure a slot in the Asian RMR tournament, bringing them closer to qualifying for the Shanghai Major.
Drillas entered the competitive scene through the Levant and North African qualifiers, a route that allowed them to bypass the closed qualifiers in more prominent regions like Europe and North America.
Their unique approach and humorous team logo have garnered attention, making them a fan-favorite underdog in the CS2 community. While ohnePixel is serving as the team's coach, his experience in professional play is limited, which has led to mixed expectations from fans.
