Twitch streamer Morgan "Frogan" has gone viral on social media after making contentious comments about the US military. On October 20, 2024, a one-minute-16-second video from her recent livestream surfaced on X, in which she claimed to have "no pity" for the soldiers. Furthermore, Frogan "hoped" that those serving in the US military would develop PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
The 26-year-old said:
"I have no pity at all for any f**king soldiers! I will never, ever have any f**king pity for any f**king soldiers! US military? Boo-f**king-who! I hope you get PTSD. You know? The ones, I'm like, whatever about, the US soldiers, are the ones that acknowledge that what they did was wrong. They didn't know back then. Whatever, you're the person in my book."
Frogan then elaborated on who she believed deserved and did not deserve to have PTSD:
"The US military that are like, 'Yeah, I did this back then but I know it's wrong.' Like, 'I'm changed. F**k imperialism. F**k this,' You don't deserve the PTSD. But, like, any other motherf**ker you're like, 'Oh, my god, I want my f**king Camaro, no student loans,' F**k you! I hope you get PTSD. And I hope you get no health insurance when you get back in America."
The Twitch streamer's comments elicited reactions from hundreds of netizens, with several expressing discontent. Some of the most prominent reactions were along these lines:
"I understand not liking the Army for many reason but to wish harm to anyone is just not it," said X user @JesseAMT.
"Wishing PTSD on the people who are out there to save you is wild," remarked X user @UNIVERSE_FEEDS.
"We need to learn to cancel the right people, she’s one of them," commented X user @Baldee_X.
"Wishing bad on other people (has) always been weird to me," wrote X user @SH00T_.
"What I said was out of frustration" - Twitch streamer Frogan addresses the community about her comments on the US military
On October 21, 2024, Frogan took to X to address the controversy. While claiming that the US military has "conducted some of the most horrific crimes against humanity," the content creator admitted that some of her livestream comments were "worded poorly."
Frogan then issued an apology, writing:
"The US military has conducted some of the most horrific crimes against humanity in the modern era in countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine, my anger is directed at individuals who are currently championing these war crimes as if they 'liberated' my people. It's horrific and disgusting. the beginning of the clip was worded poorly and I do apologize for that."
Acknowledging that wishing harm on people "isn't the best way" to discuss issues, the Twitch streamer added:
"I go onto clarify in the clip that I do not mean 'all' military, but specifically those with no remorse. what I said was out of frustration as they are currently bombing my family in the name of 'liberation.' I realize that wishing people harm isn't the best way to talk about these issues and that I could have talked about these topics in a more sensitive way."
This isn't the first time Frogan has made headlines for controversial reasons. Earlier this year, the content creator went viral for stating that individuals "can't be racist against White people."
