FaZe Clan members Rani "Stable Ronaldo" and Nick "Lacy" were involved in a confrontation with a stranger on the street during their recent collaborative broadcast. The two had set up a lemonade stand on the street and were offering it to individuals walking by them. They could be seen advertising their stand by shouting out to passers-by.

Upon seeing an individual of seemingly African descent, Stable Ronaldo could be heard saying the following while pointing at the man:

"Free for brothas! Free for brothas!"

However, their use of the term left another man unimpressed, and he called the pair out for using it. Further, he claimed he had previously gone viral for "smacking" a YouTube content creator. The man stated:

"Cut the bullsh** out. Cut the bullsh**... I went viral for smacking a YouTuber over stupid sh**... That's like, damn near racist, bro."

Stable Ronaldo immediately took an apologetic stance and clarified that he did not mean to sound disrespectful. The FaZe member stated:

"Yes, sir, I didn't mean to be disrespectful."

Many netizens believed that the entire stint was a "clip farm," that is, an attempt to generate Twitch clips that go viral and help the content creators gain popularity. In line with this, X user @shahtty wrote:

"Probably clip farming lol," wrote @Jarzhi
"Clip farming for sure," remarked @Arllyyychi

Many users on X seemed to be divided over the matter. Users such as @I_can_fix_all echoed the opinion that the usage of the term was inappropriate, commenting:

"Callin a black man a 'brotha' is lowkey racist tbh. At least here in LA."

Some ended up siding with the FaZe Clan members, stating that it was not wrong on Stable Ronaldo's part to use the term. User @Wildbigskies sarcastically wrote:

"Brotha is now racist good god."

What is the ongoing FaZe Clan September Subathon event?

FaZe Clan members such as Rani "Stable Ronaldo", Nick "Lacy", Jerry "Silky", Max "PlaqueBoyMax", Alexander "Adapt" and Jason "JasonTheWeen" are currently partaking in an event that involves them broadcasting live non-stop twenty-four-seven for September 2024.

On the other side, FaZe Lacy has come up with his own "clipping event" in which he is offering rewards out of a pool of $20,000 to Twitch clip creators who cover his content through the month of September. The streamer will also award a $5,000 bonus to the creator of the clip that gains the most views.
