Twitch and Kick streamer Felix "xQc" has made his opinions clear on female characters and inclusion in video games. During a livestream on December 14, 2024, the French-Canadian personality reacted to the cinematic trailer for Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet, an upcoming PlayStation 5 game developed by Naughty Dog.
At one point, xQc claimed to have seen a viral X post about "men and incels complaining about playing as a girl." While comparing the situation to playing as the Blood Elf race in World of Warcraft, the content creator elaborated:
"I'm going to cook once again. Ready, chat? I saw this big thread on Twitter, 300,000 likes on Twitter, about, 'Oh dude, men and incels complaining about playing a girl or whatever, but in WoW, they play the Blood Elf whatever.' Okay, here's the difference - the Blood Elf is good to look at. Lara Croft is good to look at."
The former Overwatch pro then said he "doesn't mind" playing as a female character in games. However, he added that playing an "ugly" female character makes the game "not as fun":
"I don't mind playing a girl if she's hot. Okay? When you play an ugly girl, it's not as fun. Sorry. Okay? You don't have to agree with me. Okay? The world agrees with that sentiment. The players that play and buy those games, the money that funds those games, the coins that teleport from the wallet to the wallet of the people that make these games, they agree with me! You don't have to say it, the wallet agrees!"
"Not every girl is f**king ugly" - xQc gives his take on inclusivity in video games
After voicing his preference to play as female characters that are "hot," xQc shared his thoughts on inclusivity in video games. He said:
"These days... hey, I'm all for inclusivity, guys I'm all to be inclusive, okay? I like inclusivity. I think that representation, okay... not every girl is f**king ugly. Okay? And even if, let's say, the majority of men and women, equally, are all ugly. Most people, let's be honest. Look at me, look at you."
xQc went on to question why the gaming industry appears to develop the main characters in games to be "ordinary":
"The characters, they're special. They're heroes or whatever. So, it's okay they're out of the ordinary. Why are we going back to this meta of, 'Dude, why not make a character that's just ordinary?' Well, that would just be an NPC, the character you just f**king slaughtered with one tap with a sword or a dagger, and you just move on. They're special! They're endearing! Why make them ugly because they don't agree with objectification or some s**t like that? I don't give a f**k!"
In other news, xQc recently claimed that his career was "threatened" by people at Amazon, adding that there was a "mega bias" against him.
