YouTube tech star Marques Brownlee, also known as MKBHD, has become the subject of much discussion online after the emergence of police bodycam footage showcasing him receiving multiple tickets during separate traffic stops. The first video shows him being stopped by New Jersey police and being given a ticket for having tinted windows on his vehicle.

Further, he was reprimanded for not carrying his driving license with him, which he could be seen failing to present to the officer after being asked as part of the traffic stop. The second video in the compilation showcases Marques Brownlee being pulled over by police officers for overspeeding. Lastly, the third and final ticket was given due to the modifications to his car, including tinted windows, a back license plate cover, and a missing front license plate.

A video compilation showcasing the bodycam footage from various traffic stops involving Marques Brownlee was recently uploaded to the YouTube channel, Transparency Bodycam. Furthermore, a post was made to Brownlee's subreddit, r/mkbhd, which sparked a discussion among the YouTuber's community members.

While the post has since been removed by the subreddit's moderators, the original video still remains on YouTube. The first clip in the compilation, dated June 30, 2023, involves him receiving a ticket for tinted windows, while the second clip shows him being stopped in New Jersey once again a year later on June 16, 2024, for overspeeding and going at 59 miles per hour in a 25 miles per hour zone.

It was revealed by the officer that the YouTuber already had "points" due to a speeding offense dating back to 2022. In New Jersey, points are added to an individual's driving record when they are convicted of or plead guilty to a moving violation.

Thus, in a move labeled by the officer herself as cutting the YouTuber "a break", she served him with a ticket for "unclear plates," which is a relatively smaller fine, and was let go.

Finally, the last video, dated August 11, 2024, shows Marques Brownlee being stopped once again in New Jersey, for certain modifications made by him to his car, including tinted windows and tinted windshield. Further, the car was missing a front license plate, and the back of the license plate was covered.

While being served with the tickets, the officer claimed he had given the YouTuber a "break" once again on two tickets so that he does not receive extra points onto his driving record.

This is not the first time Marques Brownlee has been involved in a controversy for his conduct while driving vehicles. The YouTuber bad been criticized after a YouTube video posted by him seemed to showcase him overspeeding and driving over 90 miles per hour in a Children's zone where the speed limit was 35 miles per hour.
