YouTube streamer and former Fortnite professional player Ali "Myth" recently announced that he is taking a break from content creation. In a n11-minute-long video uploaded to his X account on August 15, 2024, he acknowledged that his streaming contract with the Google-backed platform had ended.

While discussing this, he praised YouTube for making him feel "comfortable" and providing him with the support he required for creating content on the platform. He said:

"I could just continue giving them rewards and credits for how welcomed they made me feel and how much it seemed that they, like, cared about my content. Not even 'seem', they did care, I know they cared."

In his video, Myth gave a run down of his career so far, looking at the growth he has achieved over the past few years and the major events that allowed him to reach where he is today. He reminisced on how he began streaming when he was 16 or 17 years old.

The 25-year-old stated that this was the first time he was taking time away from content creation this way. After nearly a decade, Myth deemed the break necessary for him to be able to "breathe" and "think":

"If I didnt give myself time to just breathe and think, I would hop into streaming back on Twitch and nothing would really change. I wouldn't change the way I did it, I would go live, I would play games, and it wouldn't really feel valuable to me. It wouldn't feel like something that I'm doing with intent... I genuinely want to create moments for you guys."

Myth said that apart from taking on "roles and positions" based on someone else's idea, he would like to come up with his own, which is why he requires a break. He said:

"I wanna take my hand at making things that I think are worthwhile and worth you guys' time, and that could only be done by taking a little bit of time off to think about how I'm going to do that."

YouTube is increasingly becoming a hub for streamers in the past few years, with major players, such as Darren "IShowSpeed," gaining massive popularity on the platform. Another YouTube streamer that recently made headlines was Norme, who embarked on a challenge to stay awake for 12 days non-stop in an effort to break a "world record."

However, his actions seemed to have garnered attention from YouTube's moderation team, who apparently deemed it a dangerous activity. Norme was subsequently banned from the platform just a few hours before achieving his goal.
