Popular Kick and Twitch streamer xQc recently gave his take on how he prevents his friendships with fellow content creators like Mizkif from mixing with streaming. The content creation industry on Twitch is quite close-knit, with most popular figures running in their circles and collaborating with their friends.
On his latest stream on Kick, xQc claimed that sometimes he has to set his personal ties and friendships aside when he streams. He noted that every time he collaborates with Mizkif, he has to choose whether to appear on camera as a friend or as a fellow streamer.
xQc also stated that mixing the two could be bad:
"I always make the choice every time that I interact with him, whether we are doing some stream s**t or some friend s**t. I can never mix them both. Because that's GG."
xQc explains why he keeps his friendship with Mizkif out of the picture when they stream together
Back in 2022, Mizkif got a lot of backlash from the online community after he was embroiled in a controversy with allegations of sexual assault brought against him. His duties with the OTK (One True King) group were also suspended at the time, however, he has made a comeback since, and recently his YouTube channel hit a million subscribers.
While talking about him, xQc let his audience know that he liked Mizkif. That said, he also revealed that he makes a conscious decision not to act like a friend while they are streaming despite things "running in parallel":
"I know you guys have some opinions about Mizkif, I personally like Mizkif, right? But I choose every time if I am being a full friend in front of Mizkif, or am I being a full streamer. And those things are running in parallel all the time."
xQc then explained that he knows both Mizkif and him are "brain-dead":
"I know how he is, but I also know how I am. We are both brain-dead. And after a while, I realized that we are all brain dead."
The clip has garnered a lot of views after it was shared on the r/Livestreamfail subreddit with many wondering what xQc exactly meant by this. Some viewers noted that it is easier to not let friendship mix with one's professional life. Redditors such as @Bucket_Of_Magic praised this initiative, writing:
"He doesn't like to mix friendships with work anymore. This is absolutely something everybody should strive to do. Its a tale as old as time man."
Others criticized xQc for going back on his past accusations made against Mizkif. Redditor @Leepysword wrote:
"i find it so weird that not that long ago xQc was accusing Mizkif of covering up sexual assault lmao the fact that they're civil or even anything close to “friends” after all of that is the true sign of content brain rot."
For context, it was xQc and TrainwrecksTV who initially started publicly accusing Mizkif of covering up an alleged assault back in 2022, which led to a massive controversy.
