Zack "Asmongold" has publicly asked Twitch to ban streamer Central_Committee after a clip featuring the latter seemingly threatening Destiny went viral on social media. For context, a clip from Central_Committee, known as Mike from PA on X, went viral on November 8 where he appeared to offer $100,000 in an alleged call to violence against political streamer Destiny.
In the clip, Mike called out Destiny and stated:
"It's called shock, you f**king idiot. It's called shock! Anything that happens, I mean holy sh*t guys. If you live in Florida, I have an opportunity for you. If you want to $100,000, let me know."
After reacting to Central_Committee's clip, which has been deleted from Twitch, Asmongold promptly claimed that his actions deserve a permanent ban. He even went on to say that a two-week or a 30-day suspension would also suffice:
"I mean at least a two week or a thirty day. It's really not that complicated. Yeah, I mean you can't do that. I don't even."
Asmongold gave Twitch an ultimatum that he would go over allegations of antisemitism with Dancantstream if the platform doesn't ban Central_Committee
Central_Committee's clip was deleted from his channel shortly after it was shared on the streamer-related subreddit r/LivestreamFail where several Redditors criticized the streamer's words. However, backups of the video still remain and have been shared on social media websites such as X.
In his most recent stream, Asmongold came across the clip and was visibly upset. While Mike from PA does not directly call for violence against anyone in particular, many have attributed his words as a threat towards Destiny, Asmongold included. After reacting to the clip, he describes it as follows:
"Some guy made a threat on Destiny's life, or at least a call to violence. Very very obvious. And he said he would pay $100,000 for it."
Minutes after calling on the platform to ban Central_Committee, Asmongold announced that he would give Twitch till Tuesday next week (November 12) to take action against the perpetrator. If not, Asmongold claimed he would host Dancantstream, Destiny's co-host from the Anything Else podcast, on his broadcast and go over allegations of antisemitism against the Amazon-owned platform:
"If Twitch does not ban this person for at least two weeks by next Tuesday. I will have on Dancantstream, and we will go through all of the evidence of antisemitism, racism, threats, and bad behavior on this website. This type of bad behavior has gone on on Twitch for too long. And it's time for it stop."
Twitch has been facing allegations of antisemitism from multiple fronts after H3 podcast host Ethan Klein claimed CEO Dan Clancy hates Jewish people earlier this year. The call has since been amplified, with US Congressman Ritchie Torres sending a congressional letter to the platform complaining about HasanAbi's alleged anti-Jewish rhetoric on stream.
Dancantstream and Destiny have also accused Twitch of antisemitism. Dancantstream was one of the first people online to claim that the platform was limiting sign-ups from Israel, which led to Twitch coming out with an apology and rectifying the mistake.
