Twitch and Kick streamer Josh "YourRAGE" has given another update about his eye injury. For context, the content creator made headlines on July 3, 2024, after he was injured when an axe struck his face during a wood-chopping livestream. On July 7, he updated the community for the first time since the accident, stating that his retina and optical nerve had been "really damaged."
Earlier today (July 12), the FaZe Clan member posted a video titled It Got Worse... I'm seeing things, in which he disclosed that he was "seeing things" out of the corner of his right eye. He also played a short video to demonstrate how his vision was functioning:
Describing his reaction to this phenomenon, YourRAGE said:
"It feels so real to the point where I'm looking schizo. I'm over here looking around, slapping. I thought it was... for the first day, I thought I had something in my eyelash. I thought there was a fly following me or something. But it made no sense because it was white. The things that I'm seeing are white. It's the color white."
"That's serious. You can go partially blind": YourRAGE gives details about his eye injury in the latest health update
At the two-minute mark of the video, YourRAGE stated that doctors had diagnosed him with an impending Posterior Vitreous Detachment (PVD). He elaborated:
"When I heard him talking, I'm like, 'Yeah, GG. That is not normal.' Whatever. I get to the doc, he's looking in my eye, and by the end of the exam, he tells me I have this thing called impending PVD."
The 26-year-old then explained what the doctors told him about the condition, stating that the "fluid-like gel substance" attached to his retina was detaching and would eventually detach:
"He tells me everybody has a fluid-like gel substance is attached to their retina. It's like - it's attached to the inside of your eye. But mine is detaching. It's not detached yet, but it's detaching, and inevitably, it's going to detach."
A few moments later, the Twitch and Kick streamer talked about the "problem" with the situation:
"But yeah, there's nothing too bad about it detaching. But the problem with me is - mine was induced with trauma, and there's a chance it could detach and tear my retina as it's detaching."
YourRAGE added that if the circumstances mentioned above occurred, he could "go partially blind":
"He's like, 'No, that's serious. That's serious. You can go partially blind. You could start seeing lightning bolts all over the place. You could see, like, a curtain fold over your vision. If you experience any changes in your vision, you come here immediately!"
