IShowSpeed has finally received his 10 million subscriber diamond play button and it was handed to him by YouTube's CEO Neal Mohan himself. A photo of Mohan and the livestreamer was shared on social media on October 18 and has gone viral after fans praised the YouTuber for achieving his goals.

As of writing, IShowSpeed has amassed over 32 million subscribers on his channel, therefore the 10 million subscriber diamond play button has been a long time coming. Nonetheless, fans were quite appreciative that the CEO of YouTube himself met with the 19-year-old streamer to mark the occasion.

"Only 2 years late": Fans react as IShowSpeed finally gets his 10 million YouTube subscriber play button from the CEO

IShowSpeed started his career in livestreaming on Twitch but moved over to YouTube in 2021 after getting an indefinite ban from the Amazon-owned streaming platform. The streamer exploded in popularity over the next couple of years due to his Fortnite and IRL streams and has now become one of the most prominent streamers, finishing second for the Streamer of the Year award at the 2024 Esports Awards.

Having finally received his 10 million subscriber play button from YouTube's CEO, many fans wondered about the delay in awarding him the accolade. Readers should note that Speed reached the 10 million subscriber mark back in July of 2022.

After pictures of him holding the diamond play button went viral, some fans claimed that YouTube had finally recognized the streamer's achievements, with some highlighting the delayed response.

"Only 2 years late," wrote @wynzmans on X.
"Finally IShowSpeed getting the respect he deserves from YouTube, linking up with the CEO," claimed @suayrez.
"Took long enough that man already at 30M now lol," noted @KenyaJenii.

Some fans noted that with the way IShowSpeed has been gaining subscribers, it would not be long before he got the more coveted play button awards.

"he’s gonna get that red diamond play button in 2026," claimed @officialvrewls.

While it is not an official award anymore, other channels such as T-Series and PewDiePie did receive a custom red ruby play button for reaching 50 million subscribers in the past. Considering Speed's current subscriber tally of 32.5 million, he still has a ways to go to reach the 50 million mark.

In related news, British YouTuber Miniminter recently melted down his diamond play button to make smaller versions to gift to his wife and fellow Sidemen members as a token of appreciation.
