Controversial live streamer and internet personality Sneako has once again been banned on YouTube. The new suspension comes within a day after a years-long ban was lifted from his account.
Sneako was permanently banned from YouTube in 2022 for spreading political and medical misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine and the US elections. However, to the surprise of many people online, his account was unbanned on October 20, 2024.
As it turned out, this did not last long as his channel was swiftly taken offline within the nest 24 hours, with many viewers joking about it on social media.
"Lasted 20 hours": Internet reacts as YouTube reverses decision to un-ban Sneako's channel
Sneako is known for his controversial rhetoric and has received suspensions and other penalties from various platforms in the past. In addition to YouTube, Twitch had also banned the streamer from their platform for years until lifting the suspension earlier this year.
The unbanning of Sneako on Twitch has caused quite a lot of controversy for the platform, with H3 podcast host Ethan Klein calling out the CEO for not liking Jewish people due to the controversial nature of Sneako's past comments about the Holocaust.
The initial response to his YouTube channel getting unbanned was quite mixed. Now, the fact that his channel has been suspended again has sparked similar comments from viewers. Some pointed out that he only lasted 20 hours, while others claimed that they knew he would not last a day:
"Lasted 20 hours," wrote @ExoticJayB on X.
"I had said it wouldn't last 24 hours," claimed @suayrez.
Some even praised YouTube for seemingly reversing their decision to ensure the creator remained banned.
"W they corrected their mistake," said @ogchabzo.
Some supporters wondered how he was banned again so fast:
"He didn’t even post any new videos… what guideline could’ve been broken with no upload," asked @MMA6471.
YouTube does not publicly disclose reasons for banning channels on their platform, but viewers seem to think that a YouTube Short about Yahya Sinwar could have violated the website's terms of service:
"He called sinwar a hero, maybe it was that," speculated @TrustmefooI.
Sneako is no stranger to controversies and, as mentioned, his stances have caused many platforms to ban him in the past. But that hasn't stopped some content creators from associating with him. Kick streamer Adin Ross, for example, recently revealed that he was planning to visit India with Sneako.
