Internet Anarchist is going viral after he made claims that fake bots have been commenting on MrBeast's videos. The controversial YouTuber is known for making documentary-style videos exploring controversies surrounding fellow content creators.
On August 13, 2024, Internet Anarchist took to X to post several screenshots of alleged YouTube comments on MrBeast's videos, along with a caption that questioned whether they were authored by actual people:
"Is MrBeast botting fake positive comments? Several random positive comments are from accounts created the same day of commenting. Coincidence?"
The post has gone viral, garnering over half a million impressions on X within a few hours of being posted.
Internet Anarchist posts screenshots and claims MrBeast's videos have positive comments from bot accounts
MrBeast has been the subject of much debate since the Ava Kris Tyson grooming controversy from a few weeks ago. Since then, the YouTuber has faced accusations from multiple former employees, who have made "exposé" videos about him.
With negative perception about MrBeast at an all-time high, posts denigrating the YouTuber have naturally received a lot of attention on social media. By posing a pointed question about the content creator allegedly using bots for positive comments, Internet Anarchist has sparked much debate.
Botting has become a real issue on social media, with many fake accounts targeting streamers and content creators to farm engagement. Recently, Twitch streamer HasanAbi was left speechless after a bot pretending to be an Adin Ross fan trolled him on X.
After Internet Anarchist claimed that many of the comments under MrBeast's videos were made by accounts created on the very same day, many have pushed back on the narrative that the YouTuber is to blame for them.
X user @roecean argued that big videos on the Google-owned platform frequently get fake comments like these:
"he’s the most popular creator in the world so there could be half a billion people capable of buying some sort of sh*t for his channel," stated @roecean
Internet Anarchist conceded to this point and stated that he was merely pointing out the trend of bot activity:
"Great point! Not saying this is him, just a very strange pattern of bot accounts leaving positive comments on his page."
While bots in internet comments are not an uncommon thing, considering MrBeast's popularity, instances of such activity have naturally increased on his channel by quite a bit.
