YouTube creator and lawyer Devin "LegalEagle", known for his informative videos regarding the legal side of the ongoing trends in the world, chimed in on the fiasco surrounding fellow YouTuber Jimmy "MrBeast". In his latest video, uploaded on Aug 8, 2024, he covered the allegations made against MrBeast by YouTube content creator DogPack404.

To those unaware, MrBeast was accused of holding illegal lotteries and rigging/scripting his videos. LegalEagle reviewed these accusations and explained the potential legal outcomes if the allegations were true. Within his video, he suggested that one of MrBeast's live broadcasts, originally talked about in DogPack404's video, did involve what could be considered an "illegal lottery" in some jurisdictions.

Within his YouTube upload, LegalEagle also chimed in on another video made by YouTuber, Upper Echelon, titled The Disaster Facing MrBeast. LegalEagle stated that since the Federal Communications Commission did not cover online content such as YouTube, the creator had not broken any FCC law that could implicate him for allegedly deliberately altering the course of a contest.

LegalEagle described a potential situation in which DogPack404 could end up in legal trouble. He stated that DogPack404 could encounter issues if he breached his Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as an employee of MrBeast.

Discussing this, LegalEagle said:

"And it doesn't seem like DogPack has made any statements of witnessing anything firsthand that MrBeast did anything that was against the law... But if he did disclose information that was covered by the NDA, then he could be in trouble. Now, it would be a breach of contract claim. So, it's not against the law to violate your NDA, but it does mean you can be sued civilly for a breach of contract."

Continuing further, LegalEagle said that if DogPack404's NDA also had a "non-disparaging" clause, it could spell "a lot of" legal trouble as it prohibits him from making videos talking negatively about MrBeast for some time:

"But the NDA could also contain a non-disparagement clause... Disparagement just means saying something negative about the other person, even if it's a hundred percent correct. So, if DogPack's NDA has a non-disparagement clause that's still in effect, he could be in a lot of trouble because he's been doing a lot of disparaging, even if you assume that everything he says is 100% true."

MrBeast has been associated with a flurry of allegations recently, with many of them also being about the supposed improper treatment of the participants in MrBeast's upcoming Prime Video show, Beast Games.
