Twitch streamer and FaZe Clan member, Max "Plaqueboymax" and live streamer, Livingston "DJ Akademiks" have been involved in online controversy. The problem began because Akademiks made some questionable comments regarding a teenage Twitch streamer. His statements also involved Max's name, which naturally sparked a response from the FaZe Clan member.
This article will delve into the controversy between the two and the responses both creators have issued amidst the drama.
What is the controversy involving DJ Akademiks?
DJ Akademiks accused of grooming (January 23, 2025)
DJ Akademiks is currently facing a litany of allegations following his seemingly inappropriate statements to a minor. For context, on January 23, 2025, there were several clips of the streamer making questionable dialogues with NourGxd, a 15-year-old Twitch streamer.
For instance, in one clip, he joked about sending strippers to the teenage streamer's home. He said:
"Yo, Nour, what's your address? I'm going to send some strippers over there."
Another clip saw DJ Akademiks present an explicit scenario involving FaZe Clan member and streamer, Plaqueboymax. He said (to NourGxd):
"Yo, if Max (Plaqueboymax) said he wanted to try f**king a dude, will you let him f**k you? (Nour responds, 'No!') Why not? Yo, suppose he's like your bro, 'Listen, you always wanted me to be next to you, now I can be inside of you.' (Nour responds, 'Yo, I'm not gay.')"

Plaqueboymax reacts to the comments (January 24, 2025)
The online community was, unsurprisingly, highly critical of DJ Akademiks. Plaqueboymax has since responded to Akademiks' remarks, especially as Max was directly mentioned in his statements to the minor. The FaZe member said:
"I'm not going through this s**t. I'm not! Because these clips are nasty. It's bad work. Nasty work and today is a great stream, and I'm not bringing it down with this weird energy. Ak, this s**t is very weird, I talked to Nour, Nour is good, to make sure what was good."
He encouraged Akademiks to refrain from engaging in such dialogue:
"Ak, I would appreciate it if you don't do that type of s**t with my lil bro. You know what I'm saying? He's not my lil bro, but you feel me? Like, this s**t is not cool. That s**t is not cool."
DJ Akademiks responds (January 25, 2025)
Despite the backlash, Akademiks seemed quite animated in his response to the initial criticism and Plaqueboymax's comments. In a Rumble stream on January 25, 2025, he said:
"This sh*t turned me so off. I swear to God! I never need to be on Kai (Cenat), Max (Playboymax), Adin (Ross), nobody's stream. I don't need nobody who streams. I got my own thing going on. So when I see this sh*t, it pissed me off. I'm here f**king with these ni**as, supporting them...No more Max clips on my page. I'm supporting these ni**as and these ni**as are kicking my back."
DJ Akademiks fan page targets Plaqueboymax (January 25, 2025)
In the wake of the controversy, a fan page associated with DJ Akademiks (@AkademiksTV), allegedly controlled or endorsed by Akademiks himself, posted a series of seemingly defamatory clips targeting Plaqueboymax.
These clips contained serious allegations of grooming. However, the community has pointed out that these clips were taken out of context. Click here to see the screenshots of the controversial clips.
Plaqueboymax fires back at DJ Akademiks page (January 26, 2025)
Plaqueboymax took to his latest Twitch stream today to respond to the fan page (@AkademiksTV) for posting defamatory clips. He stated that while he doesn't know who runs the page, he believes Akademiks himself plays a role in it:
"Someone running the second page is taking clips from 3-4 years ago, posting them with captions that aren't true, trying to defame me, and trying to drag me down with Ak. Now, does Ak run this page? I don't think so. Does Ak most likely have control over this page? Yes. These are his mods, or whoever is running it."

DJ Akademiks apologizes (January 26, 2025)
DJ Akademiks has since issued an apology for his comments towards NourGxd, acknowledging that, as a senior member, he should have taken responsibility for his actions. He said:
"A very regretful moment happened where it derived from a Discord where we are usually like super buddy-buddy and honestly, if everything I said in that court got leaked, it would be crazy. Definitely a regrettable moment and we're gonna use this as a teachable moment."

It's worth noting that NourGxd, the streamer who was also at the center of the controversy, has sided with Max after Akademiks' fan page posted the inflammatory content. The posts have since been removed.
