YouTuber Vince Vintage (747K Subscribers) uploaded a 49-minute video titled Exposing Tyler Oliveira...YouTube's Biggest Liar. In it, Vintage criticized Tyler Oliveira (7.03 million subscribers) and his "investigative" content. In the video, Vintage provided various clips from Oliveira's videos in which he seemingly shared inaccurate facts.
For example, Vintage referred to a video titled Oakland: Where Every Crime Is Legal, in which Oliveira used B-roll clips from different cities depicting violence. Another video accused of making the same mistake was titled I Investigated The Most Violent City In America.
Aside from these alleged clips, Vintage accused Oliveira of "lying." For instance, in a video titled "I Investigated The Murder Capital Of The World," Oliveira stated that his guide in Jamaica was nowhere to be seen. However, Vintage found a vlog from the guide's YouTube channel, where he was seen with him at all times. Vintage remarked:
"You're literally just making sh*t up to sell a narrative that this place is absolutely the most despicable thing you have ever seen. If he's willing to lie about something so small to amplify the violence and the crime here, what else would Tyler lie about?"
He also called out Tyler Oliveira over his other content, such as visiting a store that was labeled as an "antique store" but appeared to be one that sells 'KKK' memorabilia. Some items in this store included a "N*glet scalp," "Minstrel show outfits," and "KKK uniforms." To this, Vintage reacted:
"Do you think supporting a store like this might come off as racist? A store that literally sells N*glant repellent? I would say a little bit so."
What did Tyler Oliveira say about the allegations?
YouTuber Tyler Oliveira faced a wave of allegations following the release of a 49-minute video by Vince Vintage. In response, Tyler acknowledged having a small team of editors who are prone to occasional errors and admitted that the B-Roll clips used were inaccurate. However, he added:
"A handful of inaccurate b-roll shots don’t invalidate any of the conversations we have, the statistics we show, or the point of a given video: but it is 100% on us that these made it to the finished product."
He also mentioned that his videos are subjected to microscopic scrutiny, and while he and his team strive for accuracy, mistakes have occurred and may happen again in the future:
"Ultimately, everything we do is under microscopic examination, and we will most likely make mistakes like this in the future. We will be more vigilant to do our best to avoid them, but with the type of content we produce, perfection isn't guaranteed."
Despite the YouTuber's response, fans have noted that Tyler did not address the core allegations made by Vince Vintage in the video. It remains to be seen whether there will be any further updates regarding the ongoing drama.
