Commentary YouTuber Mutahar, a.k.a. SomeOrdinaryGamers, and Animation YouTube channel Nux Taku (or Nuxanor) have recently faced questions over one of their past collaborations. For context, on Mutahar's Reddit page, a user shared an old YouTube video alleging the creators seemingly watching and reacting to Lolicon.
For those unaware of the term, Lolicon is a fictional medium focusing on young and underaged characters — often criticized for sexualizing these characters. While collaborating with Nux in January 2021, Mutahar was reacting to a video sent to him by Nux — alleged to have Lolicon content.
Today (December 3, 2024), Mutahar discussed the situation (in a now private video titled "Post Nux Clarity"), explaining that the clip he reacted to was sent to him unexpectedly and without any prior information about the video's subject. He also acknowledged that he shouldn't have entertained such a video.
What did SomeOrdinaryGamers say about Nux Taku?
YouTuber SomeOrdinaryGamers recently came under scrutiny following a Reddit post accusing him and NuxTaku of watching a hentai video on YouTube (which has since been removed). The video reportedly contained depictions of minors.
He explained that he was collaborating with NuxTaku and was not informed in advance about the content of the video:
"In this collaboration, Nux doesn't really give any preparation material. We kinda just jump in and record stuff and send it over to his editors."
He clarified that the video they were reacting to, which had been sent by NuxTaku, was from a show called Nee Summer. The anime's synopsis involves the use of high school characters in a sexualized context, something the YouTuber admitted to overlooking at the time:
"If it's hentai and it involves high school people, then it falls under the 'Loli' banner and that is never okay. These videos existing on YouTube led us to believe that maybe this wasn't borderline illicit material but these were (uploaded by) smaller YouTubers, so chances are they probably weren't swept up from YouTube moderation."
SomeOrdinaryGamers acknowledged that he should not have reacted to the video and reiterated his stance as strongly anti-loli, emphasizing that he does not support such content. He also criticized NuxTaku for his problematic thumbnails, one of which featured themes of bestiality.
Towards the end of the video, SomeOrdinaryGamers also criticized NuxTaku, accusing him of spreading misinformation that resulted in serious grooming allegations against another creator in the industry.
The YouTuber stated that he has no intention of rekindling his friendship with NuxTaku. Notably, NuxTaku was previously a member of the SomeOrdinaryGamers podcast, which has since been discontinued.
