In late December 2024, popular streamers Kai Cenat and Darren "IShowSpeed" embarked on a marathon Fortnite session, vowing to play ranked duos until they secured a Victory Royale. The challenge commenced on December 27, 2024, at 4 PM ET and extended over 57 hours, during which they endured 206 losses before finally clinching victory in their 207th match.

The event naturally garnered significant online attention, considering two of the most recognizable streamers played the most popular battle royale game. Kai, for example, averaged over 100,000 viewers throughout the gameplay, during which quite a few viral moments emerged.

This article will look into the duo's time on OG Fortnite and count down the top five moments from the streaming session.

Counting down Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed's top 5 Fortnite moments

From close calls to moments of sheer rage, Kai and Speed have had a rollercoaster of a journey on Epic Games' battle royale offering.

Throughout the marathon, the duo faced significant challenges from stream snipers — viewers who joined their game to disrupt gameplay. Despite these obstacles, they remained determined, even invalidating an earlier win due to perceived undue assistance from stream snipers.

Regardless, the marathon concluded successfully after 57 hours, with the two finally achieving a legitimate Victory Royale, much to the delight of their fans. Here are some of the most memorable moments from their Fortnite marathon.

5) Epic Games support Kai and Speed against stream snipers

Before beginning their first match, the duo warned stream snipers. Kai Cenat even shared what he claimed was an official message from an Epic Games representative, encouraging them to report any stream snipers.

Nevertheless, the snipers kept coming. Popular streamer Felix "xQc" read a report on X claiming that the two streamers received special accounts to ban stream snipers while they were live. Felix felt that this was unfair and that if Kai and Speed have this opportunity, so should other streamers:

"I think this is brain-dead. If you give special treatment, give it to everybody, everybody's as valuable... You either fix the game, or you help everybody, or you help no one."

4) Talking Ben helped decide to void IShowSpeed and Kai Cenat's first win

Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed secured a Victory Royale after approximately 21 hours of gameplay. However, they chose to invalidate this win upon realizing that stream snipers had assisted them, compromising the legitimacy of their achievement.

To make their decision, IShowSpeed consulted the smartphone app "Talking Ben the Dog", which responded affirmatively when asked if they should continue the challenge. This interaction led the duo to persist in their marathon until they achieved an uncontested victory.

3) IShowSpeed introduces his girlfriend to his viewers

During the Fortnite OG livestream with Kai Cenat on December 27, 2024, Speed introduced his girlfriend, Vanessa Anne Williams, to his audience. Initially hesitant to appear on camera, Vanessa eventually joined Speed, who introduced her as his 20-year-old girlfriend.

Prior to this official introduction, there had been speculation about their relationship. In October 2024, IShowSpeed confirmed he was dating someone after photos of him with a mystery woman circulated online, though he chose not to reveal her identity at that time.

2) IShowSpeed backflips into his streaming setup

During the introduction, Speed asked Kai to "test" Vanessa, possibly as an icebreaker. Kai then asked her to name three things she likes about Speed. Vanessa replied that she admired his smile, his caring nature, and how he treated her.

Later, Kai asked Speed the same question. The latter got through his first two picks with ease, but as he thought about the third, he stood up and backflipped straight into his streaming desk and fell. Vanessa expressed concern, while Kai stood in the back, visibly shocked:

"Darren, are you okay? What are you doing? (Laughs) Darren, are you okay? Why would you do that? (On my life, he loves you... he just did a f**king backflip into his f**king setup, for you!', remarked Kai Cenat)."
