One of Darren "IShowSpeed's" former friends and TikTok creator Amy Flamy (@amyflamy1) has become a well-known name within Speed's streaming community. For those unaware, Amy met Speed earlier in 2024 when the creator visited South Korea in May 2024. The duo even went on a couple of dates in various locations. However, they never officially declared themselves as a couple.
Amy Flamy is still active on TikTok, where she has accrued over 3.8 million followers, and on Instagram (@___amy.h), where she has over 696K followers. She has also made some recent collaborations (July 31, 2024) with other creators such as appearing on the YouTube channel That Library Show (422K subscribers). Another streamer and creator who recently appeared on the same channel was Imane "Pokimane."
What was the controversy involving Amy Flamy and IShowSpeed?
TikTok creator Amy Flamy quickly became a fan favorite among the IShowSpeed fandom, largely due to the on-screen chemistry the two shared. Despite a promising start to their friendship, it ended prematurely following a controversy in June 2024.
For context, Courtney, a hairstylist, appeared on IShowSpeed's stream and made some inflammatory remarks about Amy. She responded by calling out Courtney and later criticized Speed during one of her Instagram live sessions, suggesting that he might have been using her for content. She said:
"Maybe he is just using me for content. Maybe...I was kept in the dark about everything."
It's also worth noting that they were never in an official relationship, despite going on dates during streams. Commenting on this, Amy mentioned that Speed didn’t even communicate with her daily, despite claiming she was his girlfriend on screen. She said:
"You can't call someone your girlfriend when you are not communicating on a daily basis. Even then, I respected everything. But now, it really got confusing. Does he like me, or does he not like me? I was frustrated but I never said anything."
In a later stream by IShowSpeed, he confirmed that Amy was never his girlfriend to begin with. He said:
"Me and Amy were never together. Amy was never my girlfriend. I do want to make that clear. I know I said that Amy was my girlfriend, but chat, she was never actually my girlfriend. When I asked her to be my girlfriend, even in messages, she said, 'I don't know yet. I need more time. I don't know.' A few more dates and she would answer it."
Despite the controversy, both IShowSpeed and Amy Flamy have moved forward with their respective careers. They both remain active and continue to create content regularly.
