LA-based YouTuber Cody Ko has found himself mired in controversy after YouTuber D'Angelo Wallace posted a video about him. In the video, Wallace highlighted a couple of instances when content creator Tana Mongeau publicly acknowledged having physical relations with Cody Ko when she was 17 (which would mean Cody would've been 25 at the time), which is lower than the age of consent in multiple states in America, including Florida.

Tana and Cody Ko's encounter allegedly took place at a convention named Playlist Live in Florida. While Tana may not have directly accused Cody, D'Angelo Wallace in his video labeled the situation as "statutory rape":

"To be clear - 17 is under the age of consent in many states, including Florida, where Playlist Live used to take place. So this means that Tana Mongeau is accusing you of statutory rape, and she's not trying to hide that."

Cody Ko latest update - YouTuber leaves TMG Podcast after recent allegations

Cody Ko has been active in the social media and content creation scene for over a decade. At the time of writing, he has over 5.92 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.

While Cody hasn't made any official statement, there has been a major update regarding his career. On July 28, 2024, it was announced that he had parted ways with TMG Studios following the recent controversy. An official message from the podcast team said:

"We want to start by thanking you all for your patience while we were working to figure out the best path forward for the studio... As we enter into this next phase of the studio, we wanted to let you know that Cody will not be involved in the day-to-day operations at TMG Studios."

Noel Miller opens up on the Cody Ko allegations

TMG co-host Noel Miller has finally uploaded a new podcast episode on their channel. He says that he is not in a “position” to comment on the allegations and controversy surrounding Cody.

“The reality is that I am not in a position to speak about the situation and at this point, I have to focus on how to move forward. I wanna thank everyone who has sent messages of support directly to me. That has been very motivating and reassuring.”

Since Cody is no longer a part of the podcast, it appears that Noel will take the show in a new direction:

“I took some time and figured out a new direction for the show and where I want the company to go overall.”

He has also revealed that he will be “building a new set”:

“We will be filming out of studio for the next few weeks and that’s just because I wanna build a new set. That’s kinda the plan.”

At the time of writing, Cody Ko has yet to make any individual statement regarding the allegations made against him. His last update on X was in April 2023, and his last YouTube upload was on June 21, 2024, a month before the allegations went viral.
