Controversial Rumble streamer Nick Fuentes has been in the news recently after making posts on X claiming that an "armed" individual attempted to enter his home, which had been doxed earlier this year. The streamer claimed that the offending individual had allegedly been carrying a gun, crossbow, and explosives.

To those unaware, Nick Fuentes is known to be a far-right political commentator and livestreamer, often known for making remarks that are deemed as promoting white supremacy, antisemitism, racism, and misogyny. Such contentious remarks have led to him being banned from various online platforms in the past for violating platform policies, including but not limited to YouTube and Twitch.

In his posts, Nick Fuentes also stated his belief that the individual had arrived at his home to "kill" him. Notably, this comes just weeks after he pepper sprayed feminist activist Marla Rose, who had arrived at his house on November 27, 2024, after the doxing of his home address.

This article provides a brief history of the online career of Nick Fuentes, which has led him to become the polemical personality he is today.

Nick Fuentes began his career in politics by providing commentary as part of a radio show hosted by his school, Lyons Township High School, on its local radio station, WLTL. He also hosted "The Nicholas J. Fuentes Show" on his school's TV station, LTTV. He claimed to be more "moderate" in his views at the time. Over the years, the streamer developed views more congruent with his current extreme right-wing perspective.

His first independent show was "America First with Nicholas J. Fuentes," which he started in 2017. Since then, he has often attempted to produce and host his content online on different sites but has been de-platformed multiple times.

Fuentes has often espoused white supremacist and antisemitic views while also using racial slurs freely during his broadcasts. Further, as part of his misogynistic statements, he has previously claimed that women should not be making political decisions and has even gone as far as to claim that a non-consensual s*xual act such as r*pe is "not a big deal."

Fuentes' YouTube channel was demonetized, had its content removed, and was eventually terminated for violating the hate speech policies of the platform in 2020. He also became the most-watched live streamer on the broadcasting platform DLive in 2020. However, he was permanently suspended from there following the January 6 United States Capitol attack, with the platform accusing him of "inciting violent and illegal activities."

Fuentes himself has previously claimed that he has had his bank account frozen, been placed on the federal no-fly list, and has been banned by Airbnb, Facebook, and Instagram. Despite being previously banned from X (previously Twitter), his account was reinstated on May 3, 2024. He currently holds broadcasts regularly on Rumble, where he has 118,000 followers.

Fuentes is also banned on Twitch, with it being enforced to the extent that fellow political commentator Steven "Destiny" was banned from the platform permanently in 2022, speculatively due to him hosting Nick Fuentes in a political debate.
