Twitch star Tyler1's long-time girlfriend Macaiyla (also a streamer with 334K followers on the purple platform) has received a lot of backlash online over contentious comments she made on X.com. The content creator was recently seen addressing the Olympic Games controversy involving Imane Khelif on the website.
Macaiyla wrote (now deleted) under a post talking about Khelif's win over Angela Carini:
"We may have to vote for Trump to prevent more stuff like this from happening, I hate to say it."
This wasn't the only time Macaiyla was seen making such controversial remarks. While interacting with an X.com user with the transgender pride flag on their profile, she wrote:
"He (Tyler1) doesn't like you people either."
What did the streaming community say about Tyler1's girlfriend Macaiyla's comments?
Macaiyla, who has a child with Tyler1, faced some serious backlash online after making the remarks. The controversy was accentuated because she mentioned her partner's name, which led to him also receiving criticism.
Reacting to the drama, Reddit user u/DellSalami said:
"She replied to an Elon quote about taking the red pill with “Taken 💊” or something a year ago, right? I think everyone just forgot about it, but this isn’t the first time her views have come up, only now she’s saying Tyler agrees."
Reddit user u/yoked_girth criticized Macaiyla for her take on the Imane Khelif situation:
"'Talk to an actual doctor' while doing absolutely zero research of their own and believing idiots off the internet instead is hilariously sad."
Meanwhile, Reddit user u/testmonkey2 wrote:
"Didn't see (Imane Khelif) participate in the 2020 Olympics? Where was this uproar then? Also if there are only two genders it means that she is, by definition, a woman and should compete with women."
Macaiyla apologizes for her comments online
Macaiyla has issued a statement regarding her controversial comments and apologized to the LGBTQ+ community. She took to her X.com account to write:
"I apologize to not only the trans community but all of the LGBTQ+ supporters for my comments. I apologize for the misinformation I put out. I also apologize for the hate that I put out."
Macaiyla also apologized for speaking on behalf of her partner and contributing to the controversy. She wrote:
"I would also like to apologize to Tyler for speaking on his behalf out of pure ignorance and the heat of the moment. It's wrong of me to want to spread hate through someone else's mouth."
Tyler1 commented on the situation during his latest stream on August 3, 2024. He essentially said he is not very informed about trans issues and wants to stay out of the controversy.
