A Joe Budden fan page posted Corey Holcomb's video on X on April 23, 2025, wherein the comedian said he would believe the news concerning Sharpe if ESPN fired him. The comedian said:

"I don't believe none of this Shannon Sharpe sh*t. One week he getting a $100 million, next week he getting sued for $50 million... All this sh*t, let me tell you something, I believe this is all a publicity stunt... It's all a publicity stunt."

Corey Holcomb mentioned that Sharpe wasn't going to eclipse having Katt Williams on his show. The comedian referred to the former NFL player's famous interview with Katt Williams from January 2024. During his June 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sharpe mentioned that he earned a lot from his episode with Kat Williams, which has 89 million views on YouTube.

Corey had asked for the details of Jane Doe, who filed the lawsuit against him, claiming that the lawyers involved in the case were capable of doing it for money. He said that he didn't trust the media either.

The comedian further alleged:

"I believe that brother Shannon is at war with his s*xuality. I believe that- I believe he messes with men and women, too."

Shannon Sharpe dismisses Jane Doe's allegations against him: Details explored

An anonymous plaintiff sued Shannon Sharpe on April 20, 2025, claiming that the former NFL player used his popularity to violate, control, subjugate, and manipulate women. According to the BBC's report dated April 23, 2025, Jane Doe met Shape in 2023 when she was 19 years old, and the relationship between them spanned two years.

As per the lawsuit, Sharpe r*ped her and behaved aggressively toward her, dubbing their relationship a "rocky consensual" one. Jane Doe's lawsuit mentions:

After many months of manipulating and controlling Plaintiff — a woman more than thirty years younger than he — and repeatedly threatening to brutally choke and violently slap her, Sharpe refused to accept the answer no and raped Plaintiff, despite her sobbing and repeated screams of 'no.'"

The plaintiff claims that Shannon Sharpe r*ped her in January 2025, in addition to which she alleged that the former NFL player insisted on recording some of their private moments. The woman alleged that sometimes these were recorded without Jane Doe's consent or knowledge and were shared with Sharpe's "friends and associates." Jane Doe has sought over $50 million in punitive and compensatory damages via the lawsuit.

However, Shannon Sharpe made an X post on April 22, 2025, to refute the plaintiff's claims, calling it a "shakedown." He said:

"I'm going to be open, transparent, and defend myself because this isn't right. This is all being orchestrated by Tony Buzbee."

The former NFL player accused Jane Doe's attorney, Tony Buzbee, of targeting Black men. Sharpe added:

"I believe he's going to release a 30-second clip of a s*x tape that tries to make me look guilty and play into every stereotype you could possibly imagine. That video should actually be 10 minutes or so. Hey, Tony, instead of releasing your edit, put the whole video out. I don't have it, or I would myself."

Shannon Sharpe played in the NFL for 14 years, during which he also won three Super Bowls. He was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2011 and retired from the sport in 2003.
