A screenshot, allegedly from a Fox News broadcast featuring remarks attributed to US Attorney General Pam Bondi, has been going viral. According to the screenshot, Bondi said that any individual saying "F*ck Trump" would be sentenced to 15 years in El Salvador. The image soon began getting circulated all across social media platforms, including X.

Many netizens seemed to have believed what was suggested in the viral screenshot. However, it was found that the screenshot was modified and ended up spreading misinformation. For clarification, the screenshot showing Pam Bondi was actually from a Fox News broadcast dated April 16, 2025.

In the real clip, Pam was speaking on Hannity, and the broadcast read:

There was no mention to any such law where one would be imprisoned for saying "F*ck Trump." Snopes, a fact-checking platform, further discovered a watermark on the modified and viral image that appeared to have belonged to James Schlarmann, a satirist and comedian.

The aforementioned watermark (@jamboschlarmbo) could be seen in the bottom right corner of the screenshot. James' Facebook page 'About' section also described him as a satirist and comedian. In the end, it could be concluded that the viral image and the alleged information about Pam are fake.

Exploring more about US Attorney General Pam Bondi

In November 2024, Donald Trump announced that he was going to nominate Pam Bondi as the US Attorney General. According to The Associated Press, this decision happened after his first pick, Matt Gaetz, withdrew his name following scrutiny over s*x trafficking accusations.

Before becoming the US Attorney General, Bondi had already served as the Florida Attorney General from 2011 to 2019. Born in November 1965, in Florida, she graduated from Tampa's C. Leon King High School.
