In the podcast, Jason Whitlock, while reading the complaint documents, indicated that if Sharpe passes this week, he would be "shocked".

"What are we doing here? 50 some-year man, these types of explicit written text messages define common sense. They are putting Shannon Sharpe down. And, if he makes it past today, I am somewhat surprised. Or if he makes it through the week, I am shocked," Whitlock said.

Additionally, Jason Whitlock claimed that starting this morning, more information is likely to begin leaking, emphasizing that things can't be kept a secret forever.

He also alluded to a woman affiliated with Fox Sports who may come forward with details, though he refrained from providing further information about her.

On Sunday, April 20, 2025, Shannon Sharpe was sued by a woman named Jane Doe, a pseudonym. The 13-page civil lawsuit complaint was filed in a Nevada state court by Jane Doe, who is in her early twenties. In the lawsuit, Doe accused Sharpe of s*xual assault, battery, and s*xual battery.

The complaint reveals that the two individuals met in a gym in New York in 2023 when she was 19 years old, and first casually started talking, and later, they started having a relationship.

Jane Doe claimed that initially, the relationship was consensual, but later it became "violent" and nonconsensual. In the documents, the teenage woman alleged that Shannon Sharpe recorded their s*xual activities without her consent and shared them with his circle.

In addition, the documents claimed that two times, once in October 2024 and second in January 2025, Jane Doe was allegedly r*ped an*lly in Las Vegas. However, the former footballer has denied all allegations against him.

As of now, there are no legal actions taken, and no further updates have been given.
