Ben Affleck recently shared during the April 22 episode of Today with Jenna & Friends that two of his children are working “classic teenager” jobs to earn money. The two-time Academy Award winner shares three children with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. The separated couple co-parent Violet (19), Seraphina (16), and 13-year-old son Samuel.
During the show, the host discussed a recent viral video in which Affleck denied his son buying a costly pair of sneakers by saying, "I'm rich, you're not." To this, the actor candidly replied:
"He wanted these sneakers, and I was like, 'These sneakers are $6,000, what are you talking about? What are you gonna do, mow lawns? You got $6,000?' He was like, 'We have the money.' I was like, 'I have the money! You're broke.'"

Affleck further emphasized that it is important for parents to make their kids understand that they need to work hard to get something they desire. This led guest host, Andy Cohen, to ask the Gone Girl star whether his older kids work for money.
"Yeah, my oldest two have jobs. In fact, one just got a job, the kind of classic teenager working a shop job — I won't say what it is. My older one in college is working and trying to get an internship for the summer," Affleck responded.
During the conversation, Ben told how he is teaching his youngest son about the value of money. The actor shared what he told his son on this demand.
"I'm like ‘Well, if you want that, you can work 1,000 hours.’ You know what I mean? Minimum wage. And once you work 1,000 hours, you may not want to spend that on a pair of sneakers,” he shared.

The Golden Globe winner married actress Jennifer Garner in 2005 and got separated after a decade, officially filing for divorce in 2017. They share the custody of their three kids. Ben Affleck later married Jennifer Lopez in 2022 and divorced her in 2025. Jennifer Garner, on the other hand, has been in a relationship with businessman John Miller.
Despite having moved on in personal relationships, they are both known for their parenting and affection towards their children.
In 2022, the actor told the Los Angeles Times in an interview that he was concerned about how his children would manage his public perception. Earlier in another interview, the actor said that he took his career decisions keeping his children in mind.

To promote his latest project, The Accountant 2, Ben Affleck recently appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show, where he shared how his kids do not hold back when it comes to criticizing his films.
“They’ll sit right next to me watching a movie and while it’s happening [say], ‘This is terrible. I mean, this is terrible. Why did you do this?'” Affleck said.
He further revealed that his kids called the 1998 classic Armageddon “stupid.” However, he said that they have approved his latest project.
