On April 21, 2025, DJ Akademiks discussed the Knicks–Pistons playoff game on his Twitch channel. While talking about the game, he said the wealthy version of Joe Budden and the struggling one seem like "different people." He also often compares Joe Budden to 50 Cent.

"Rich Joe and broke Joe are two different people," DJ said.

The match was fought on April 21, 2025, and the two artists met in the audience. However, the two artists were reportedly involved in a beef, which 50 refutes in a recent Instagram post.

On Monday, April 21, 2025, the American podcaster DJ Akademiks shared his thoughts on Joe Budden and 50 Cent in a live stream on Twitch.

In the live stream, Akademiks compared the two individuals by first shedding light on an American broadcaster and former rapper, Budden; the DJ suggested that money has reflected and made a considerable change in Budden's personality.

According to DJ Akademiks, the rich Budden does not get involved in petty online drama.

"Listen, rich Joe he don't get on this yeah, he got too much money, he got the Ferrari, he got the roles, he got the beautiful girl. You are not gonna get him on wild crazy race, he is gonna be like 'I am rich as f*ck.' Now richer now, just commenting on everything and just... Broke Joe is crash now, you know what I am saying," DJ said.

Furthermore, DJ Akademiks indicated that not everyone's personality changes after their money status change, for which he took the example of 50 Cent.

During the live stream, DJ Akademiks suggested that 50’s opinions about people remain unchanged regardless of wealth or status, implying that if 50 does not like someone, no amount of money on either side will change that. DJ also said that 50 Cent has always been "one way."

"But 50 is another level, 50 no matter made a billion, now thats the people he don't like, he don't like, and he has always been I am one way," DJ said. "I don't like someone, I stand by that, he has always been the same"

The two names, 50 Cent and Joe Budden, possibly came together in the live stream of the DJ because they had been on a Knicks and Pistons playoff. On April 22, 2025, 50 took to his Instagram account and suggested that he met Budden during the game, and the two had a brief interaction.

"I ran into Joe at the game he said I don’t need Therapy No MORE! 🤨," 50 wrote.

The match was fought between the Kicks and the Detroit Pistons; the result was 100-94, with the Detroit Pistons taking the lead.

It is unknown which artist supported which team, but netizens online humorously suggested that Kicks lost due to 50 and Budden's interaction. However, this statement was made in jest and does not reflect factual information.

As of now, Joe Budden and 50 Cent have to reflect on the DJ's remarks.
