On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, Charlamagne tha God and the other co-hosts of The Breakfast Club—DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, and Loren Lorosa—shared their thoughts on the recent lawsuit against former American professional football player Shannon Sharpe.

During the podcast, Charlamagne tha God suggested that the situation is "very messy" and questioned the age gap of the alleged couple.

"This is a very very messy situation, I don't know what's true and what's not true, but I have no idea why a 54 year old man is dating a 19 20 years old... At 54 years old should, you should be laid up with your wife and kids, taking your cholesterol medicine, and minding your own damn business," Charlamagne tha God said.

In addition, the American radio host suggested that men generally need "discipline" and "stability" in their lives. He also said that after a certain age, a man should find one woman and settle down with her only.

"We need discipline and stability, and I ain't talking about just Shane. I am talking about all of us in general. Men need discipline and stability. Find you one woman settle your *ss down," Charlamagne added.

On Monday, April 21, 2025, a woman in her early twenties filed a lawsuit against the former football player Shannon Sharpe. In the lawsuit, the woman accused Sharpe of s*xual assault and manipulation.

The lawsuit claims that the two met in 2023 in a Los Angeles gym, and the woman was unaware of Sharpe's celebrity status. However, the two started talking and eventually got into a relationship.

The lawsuit alleges that the relationship was initially consensual but later became violent. Furthermore, it alleges that Sharpe had tried to choke the young woman and allegedly slapped her.
