Old's Cool Kevmo has won the fight against stage 4 cancer
On April 20, 2025, Kevin Ashton took to Instagram to share with his followers that he is cancer-free. In a video posted to his Old's Cool Kevmo handle, the chef opened up about his journey through metastatic cancer, captioning the clip:
“Health update!”
In the video, he explained that he was given a 30% chance of surviving after being diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma cancer 18 months ago on September 1, 2023.
“My prognosis wasn’t that good. My doctor told me I had a 70% chance of not surviving my cancer. And trust me, that kind of news changes your life,” he said.
He explained his journey through stage four of skin cancer and added:
“Last summer, I had a mutation in my cancer that caused a new tumor to start growing. This tumor was eradicated using radiation. I’ve also had over 20 infusions of immunotherapy.”
While the YouTuber admitted that he has had a rough journey with many “ups and downs,” he confirmed the good news of being cancer-free after his latest PET scan on Friday showed no more metabolic activity.
Kevin Ashton, in his video, also revealed that he beat cancer despite not following doctors’ every order and doing “everything wrong,” including not eating well and not exercising. However, he said he was always positive.
“Folks, the power of positivity does wonders. It changed my life and it changed the course of my cancer. In the future, remember, just keep on smiling and keep on trucking.”

According to Dexerto, this isn’t the first time that Kevin Ashton has beaten cancer. On October 21, 2023, the YouTuber shared his story on the platform, revealing how he was diagnosed with the disease.
