The WNBA has resumed following its month-long break for the 2024 Paris Olympics, and Caitlin Clark wasted no time in continuing her record-breaking ways. The Indiana Fever rookie dazzled in her first game back, scoring a team-high 29 points to lead the Fever to a 98-89 victory over the Phoenix Mercury.

Clark shot 8-for-16 from the field, including 4-for-11 from 3-point range, while dishing out 10 assists and grabbing five rebounds in an impressive return to action.

This performance marked the fourth time Clark has scored at least 29 points. She recorded 30 points twice, once in May and once in June, and had a 29-point game against the Washington Mystics in July.

Her standout night set several records, as noted by StatMamba. Here are the highlights.

5 milestones Caitlin Clark reached in her first game back after 2024 Paris Olympics

#1. Caitlin Clark becomes 1st rookie in WNBA history to record 450+ points and 200+ assists

With her performance against the Mercury, Clark has now surpassed the 450-point and 200-assist mark, making her the first rookie to achieve this milestone.

She’s also just the sixth player in WNBA history to reach these numbers in a single season.

#2. Clark sets the record for most games with 25+ points and 10+ assists by a rookie

Before Clark joined the league, a rookie had only tallied at least 25 points and 10 assists once.

Clark has now done it twice, surpassing all other rookies combined.

#3. Caitlin Clark becomes first player to record 50+ points and 25+ assists over 2-game span

In her last regular-season game before the WNBA All-Star Game and the Olympic break, Clark posted 24 points and 19 assists in a loss to the Dallas Wings.

With her 29-point, 10-assist double-double tonight, her two-game total of 53 points and 29 assists is the highest in WNBA history over a two-game span.

#4. Caitlin Clark records 2nd most 20+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists games in a single WNBA season

Clark has been on a tear, and tonight marked her ninth game with at least 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

This achievement ranks second for such games in a single WNBA season. Breanna Stewart set the record with 12 in 2023, a season where she won MVP, while runner-up Alyssa Thomas also had nine such games.

#5. Caitlin Clark joins Steph Curry and Michael Jordan in elite stat line

Now, to top it off, the 23-year-old's impressive stat line of 29 points, five rebounds, and ten assists, on 8-of-16 shooting from the field and 4-of-11 from three-point range in 36 minutes, has placed her in elite company alongside six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan and four-time NBA champion Steph Curry.
