On Sunday, the 2024 WNBA playoffs will begin. Eight teams will battle it out across three rounds for the right to call themselves champions.

Among the teams slated to compete in the postseason is the Indiana Fever. Led by rookie sensation Caitlin Clark, they secured the No. 6 seed. After putting on an impressive showing in the regular season, this year's No. 1 pick will get her first taste of WNBA playoff action.

Clark broke several records this season including the new single-season mark for assists. She now has a chance to start climbing the all-time playoff ranks but has a ways to go in this stat. To get to the top spot, she'll have to pass a handful of current players and legends.

Here is a breakdown of the assists leaders in WNBA postseason history.

WNBA all-time playoffs assists leaders:

5) Chelsea Gray (265)

At No. 5 is a player who will still add to her career totals. With 47 playoff games already under her belt, Chelsea Gray has tallied 265 assists. This postseason, the former Finals MVP will look to help the Las Vegas Aces secure a three-peat.

4) Diana Taurasi (291)

When it comes to star playmakers in league history, Diana Taurasi is viewed as one of the greatest ever. She is at the top of the all-time lists in numerous categories, including playoff assists. Entering the 2024 playoffs, the former MVP has 291 to her credit and she will have a chance to add to her total as the Phoenix Mercury clinched the No. 7 seed.

3) Lindsay Whalen (341)

Coming in at No. 3 is Hall of Fame guard Lindsay Whalen. During her 15-year run in the WNBA, she racked up 341 assists in the postseason. Whalen started off her career with the Connecticut Sun and eventually went on to spend nearly a decade with the Minnesota Lynx. Her career-high for assists per game in the regular season was 5.9.

2) Courtney Vandersloot (362)

Next up is one of the top-10 players in assists this season, Courtney Vandersloot. The New York Liberty guard will have the opportunity to take over the top spot this year. She only needs two more assists which she should easily achieve. After finishing with the No. 1 seed, Vandersloot and the Liberty have their sights set on the WNBA title.

1) Sue Bird (364)

Holding on to the No. 1 spot for now is one of the greatest point guards in league history, Sue Bird. During her two-decade-long run with the Seattle Storm, she racked up 364 assists in the postseason.

Bird, who averaged just under six assists per game for her career, was a 13-time All-Star and helped the Storm win four championships.
