At just 28 years old, A'ja Wilson has crossed out a lifetime's worth of goals for most people. The scary part? She's not stopping any time soon.
That much is clear in one of Wilson's latest IG stories, where she confidently flaunts her future successes with a shiny set of bling.
The IG story shows a snapshot of a golden necklace bearing the name A'ja, along with the famous Nike swoosh. This clearly indicates that Wilson is hinting at a significant milestone with the company. Her excitement is evident in her caption:
"Can't wait til next year"
A'ja Wilson is doing big business with Nike in 2025
It's clear what the two-time WNBA champion is referring to. In May, Nike introduced Wilson as a signature athlete, adding her to an elite list that includes Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, Diana Taurasi and Sabrina Ionescu.
"It's been incredible working with Nike towards a dream of having my collection," Wilson said. "From my logo to the look of the shoe and the pieces throughout the collection, we've worked to make sure every detail is perfectly tuned to my game and style."
In all likelihood, then, Wilson is teasing the arrival of her signature shoe, which will be called the A'One. In her involvement with the design and manufacturing of her shoe line, Wilson requested that the A'Ones be "light and comfortable for all the hours that I spend on the court, and that it looks really good."
A month after announcing Wilson as a signature athlete, Nike revealed her signature logo. Just as Nike has done for its other signature athletes, the logo encapsulates Wilson's personality.
With the A'Ones locked and loaded in the pipeline, Wilson adds yet another accomplishment to her ever-growing resume. As noted by Kari Anderson of Yahoo! Sports, the two-time Olympic gold medalist is "the first Black woman to get a signature shoe since Candace Parker did it with Adidas in 2010."
What’s next for Wilson in 2025? She aims to reach the pinnacle of the WNBA with the Las Vegas Aces once again, and perhaps just as thrilling, the release of her signature shoe line.
