Angel Reese is a 6 feet 3 power forward who has quickly established herself as a standout talent in the WNBA as a member of the Chicago Sky. Reese was named WNBA All-Star in her first season and also made it to the All-WNBA Rookie Team. Reese's collegiate career was equally impressive, beginning at Maryland (2020–2022) before she transferred to LSU (2022–2024). During the 2022-23 junior season at LSU, Reese emerged as one of the top players in the nation. She earned unanimous first-team All-American honors from the AP, USBWA, and the WBCA Coaches' All-America Team. Averaging 23 points and 15.4 rebounds per game, Reese led NCAA Division I in total rebounds and offensive rebounds per game, while her 240 made free throws set an SEC record. Reese's 830 points scored in that season were the third-most in LSU history. Her leadership on the court was pivotal in leading LSU to the 2023 NCAA Championship, where she was named the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player (MOP). Reese's game was WNBA-ready even before she officially entered the league.

She led Frances to three straight IAAM championships and two conference titles. During her high school career, Reese averaged 18 points, 5 assists, and 20 rebounds per game. She was ranked No. 2 overall player in the class of 2020 by ESPN and her No.10 jersey was retired by the school.
