Angel Reese was having an impressive rookie season as she made a strong impact on the Chicago Sky and took them back to competitive levels. However, Reese announced that her season was over due to a wrist injury.

While she confirmed she was a terrific rebounder, Reese struggled on the offensive side of the ball and even missed what looked like easy shots near the rim.

Now that her season is done, X account @brickscenter noted that Reese missed 125 shots within five feet in 25 games, which is the second-worst record for this stat. Natalie Williams, the current Las Vegas Aces general manager, leads the list with 129 misses in 34 games.

Reese shot 45.6% from this distance, which is worse than the 51% Williams had in 2003. Moreover, she took 321 field goal attempts from less than five feet this season and made 143 of them (44.5%).

This was a big struggle for Angel Reese all season long, but she made it clear she was willing to do the dirty work and then hit the gym to work on her offensive skills. If she can become a two-way threat, Reese will have a tremendous career in the WNBA.

The two entered the league at the same time with high expectations after starring in memorable duels during their college careers.

Angel Reese played 34 games for the Chicago Sky, averaging 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals in 32.5 minutes per game. She picked up the injury on Friday when the Sky faced the LA Sparks and snapped their seven-game losing streak.

Chicago is still alive in the playoff race, but without Reese, it will be harder to compete against the top teams in the league.
