Born on March 2, 1997, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Arike Ogunbowale plays for the Dallas Wings in the WNBA. The 27-year-old is amongst the deadliest scorers and one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. She is ranked third in scoring (22.2 ppg), 10th in assists (5.2), first in steals (2.6), and tied third for three-pointers made (71).

The four-time All-Star has won two WNBA All-Star MVPs joining the elite company of Lisa Leslie (three-time), Swin Cash (two-time), and Maya Moore (three-time) to have won multiple All-Star MVPs. She led the DSHA to a Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division-1 title and averaged 27.2 points per game. She was later inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.

As a five-star coming out of high school, Ogunbowale attended the University of Notre Dame and joined the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Women’s Basketball Team. After the departure of Jewell Loyd and Kayla McBride who joined the WNBA, the Fighting Irish found another gem in Ogunbowale who became their high-volume scorer.

In her four years, the Fighting Irish made two consecutive National Finals, winning the 2018 National championship. She scored two consecutive buzzer beaters in the final four against the favorites UConn to win 91-89 and in the finals against Mississippi State to win 61-58. In 19 appearances in the NCAA championship, she averaged 21.7 points per game and scored over 400 points. She made two consecutive NCAA All-tournament teams in 2018 and 2019 and won the Most Outstanding Player award in 2018. She also made three consecutive NCAA tournament All-Region teams (2017-19) and earned most of her accolades at the National level displaying elite skills among the best of the best.

Ogunbowale is the leading scorer (2626) for the Notre Dame’s women's basketball program and also has the most field-goals made (954) and field-goal attempts (2150). She is also third in minutes played (4345), sixth in three-pointers made (218) and third in free-throws made (500). Despite her size, the quickness and athleticism from Ogunbowale helped her grab 529 defensive rebounds (sixth in program history). She also holds the top two spots for the most points scored in a single season in Notre Dame’s history. The dynamic guard scored 791 points in 2017-18 and 849 in 2018-19 (only season in program's history to cross 800 points).
