It mustn’t be news anymore, but for those who aren’t aware yet, the Caitlin Clark phenomenon has taken over basketball. Yes, not just the WNBA but all of basketball. The former Iowa Hawkeyes standout was expected to do great things after being drafted first in 2024 by the Indiana Fever. But no one could have predicted the start she has had to her career.
Clark leads the WNBA Rookie of the Year race by some margin. The Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese did her best to make it competitive, but it’s almost crystal clear by now that Caitlin Clark is taking home the award. The Fever guard is also among the betting favorites for the MVP award in just her first year.

Clark needs just 11 assists in the next four games to break her record. If she has another point and assists double-double, the record could be hers as soon as Wednesday against the Las Vegas Aces.

This is a record she will surely break, as she has her entire career to do so. Clark has already tied the record for most career 25-point, 10-assists games with five in her rookie season. The question isn’t if she will but it is about when she breaks the record.
