The Minnesota Lynx will host the Chicago Sky at the Target Center on Sunday with both teams looking to solidify their playoff position as we approach the final stretch of the season.
The Lynx are one of five WNBA teams that have already cemented their spot in the postseason, but coach Cheryl Reeve will want to ensure a high seed for the playoffs.
They currently sit third in the standings with an impressive 23-9 record and hold a 3.5-game lead over the Las Vegas Aces and Seattle Storm. Minnesota has been red-hot over the last few weeks, winning seven of their last eight games.
While the Lynx have already qualified for the postseason, the Sky are battling to hold on to the final playoff spot. Chicago enters the game ranked eighth in the standings with an 11-20 record. They will be wary of the Atlanta Dream (10-21) and Dallas Wings (9-22), two teams that remain at their heels.
Chicago Sky vs. Minnesota Lynx starting lineups and depth chart
Chicago center-forward Elizabeth Williams is out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury. Chennedy Carter, the team's leading scorer this season, is questionable for the game due to league health and safety protocols. The loss of Carter would be a major blow for a Chicago Sky team that has struggled recently and is desperate to break a five-game losing streak.
The Sky will likely send out the same lineup that started versus the Indiana Fever on Friday with Lindsay Allen, Rachel Banham, Michaela Onyenwere, Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso set to take the court.
Chicago Sky depth chart
The Minnesota Lynx have no injuries going into Sunday's encounter. The team is looking to continue their hot streak and secure a WNBA-best 15th home win of the season.
Cheryl Reeve has remained consistent with her starting lineup this year and it has paid off for her. Expect the veteran coach to stick with the same five that started the previous two games with Courtney Williams, Kayla McBride, Bridget Carleton, Alanna Smith, and Napheesa Collier getting the nod.

Chicago Sky vs. Minnesota Lynx: Players to watch
Angel Reese will need to play a bigger role for the Chicago Sky if Chennedy Carter is unavailable. The Sky forward has been in tremendous form with seven double-doubles in her last eight games. She leads the WNBA in rebounds per game with 12.9 and has also chipped in with 13.2 points per game.
A series of strong performances from forward Napheesa Collier has propelled the Minnesota Lynx up the standings during the second half of the season. The four-time WNBA All-Star has been exceptional this season, leading the Lynx roster in points (20.6), rebounds (9.9), and steals (1.9). She ranks fourth overall in the WNBA in points per game.
