Christie Sides was born on January 17, 1977, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, U.S. She is an American head coach for the Indiana Fever, appointed in 2023.

Sides started her coaching career in 2002 at Ruston High School as their assistant coach. She was an assistant coach in the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters Basketball Team (2002-2004), the Louisiana State University Tigers Women’s Basketball Team (2004-2007), the WBC Spartak Noginsk Women’s Basketball Team (2007-2013), the Chicago Sky (2011- 2016), the Indiana Fever (2017-2019), and the Atlanta Dream in 2022. She was the associate head coach of the Northwestern Wildcats Women's Basketball Team from 2016 to 2017, and the ULM Warhawks from 2019 to 2022.

Christie Sides’s College

Christie Sides attended the University of Mississippi, where she played for the Ole Miss Rebels Women’s Basketball Team under Hall of Fame head coach Van Chancellor. She played during the 1995-96 and the 1996-97 Southeastern Conference Seasons in her first two college careers. She helped her team to a 34-22 overall record. Sides then transferred to Louisiana Tech University, where she played for the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters Basketball Team under fellow Hall of Fame coach Leon Barmore.

Sides, who later became the Indiana Fever's head coach, ended her playing career ranked seventh in three-pointers made and eighth in three-pointers attempted. She helped the Lady Techsters achieve a 61-6 record in her final two seasons and led them to the 1999 Final Four. Sides graduated from Louisiana Tech with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education in 2000.

Christie Sides’s High School

Christie Sides went to Central Private School in Central, Louisiana. During her senior year, she helped her team to win the state championship and she earned the Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year award and all-state honors. Her high school basketball career ended with 3,375 points and she was ranked the No.1 in school history.
