The Connecticut Sun vs Minnesota Lynx semifinal series is set to conclude on Tuesday at Target Center in Minneapolis. The Sun forced a do-or-die knockout contest in Game 5 with a clutch 92-82 win two days ago at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Minnesota was in the driver's seat after a dominant first half, but Connecticut turned it up on the defensive end, limiting the Lynx to just 22 points in the second half. Tyasha Harris had a team-high 20 points, while Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner each scored 18 points.
The Sun also weathered another Napheesa Collier top-notch performance. Collier finished with 29 points, 13 rebounds and three assists but didn't receive much help from the rest of the starters outside of Courtney Williams, who had 11 points. Natisha Hiedeman scored 16 points off the bench, but it wasn't enough to get the win.
Connecticut Sun vs Minnesota Lynx Injury Reports
The Connecticut Sun has one player on their injury report ahead of Game 5. Veteran guard Tiffany Mitchell is listed as a game-time decision due to an unspecified illness. Mitchell missed Game 4 but has reportedly ramped up her activity in practice, as per RotoWire.
On the other hand, the Minnesota Lynx doesn't have a player on their injury report and will have a full roster for Tuesday's game. The Lynx will need their role players to supplement some points on top of Napheesa Collier's production if they want to return to the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2017.
Connecticut Sun vs Minnesota Lynx Lineups and Depth Charts
Coach Stephanie White made some adjustments to her starting lineups in Game 4. White put Tyasha Harris as a starter and used Marina Mabrey off the bench. It worked since they got the win, but Brionna Jones was limited to just 14 minutes because of it.
White is expected to use the same starting lineup from Sunday's win for Game 5. Here are the Sun's predicted starting five and current depth chart:
G - DiJonai Carrington | G - Tyasha Harris | F - Alyssa Thomas | F - DeWanna Bonner | C - Brionna Jones
On the other hand, coach Cheryl Reeve is not expected to make some changes to her starting five. It has worked well for Reeve this season, and she just needs to motivate her role players to step up.
Here are the Lynx's predicted starting five and current depth chart for Game 5:
G - Courtney Williams | G - Kayla McBride | F - Bridget Carleton | F - Alanna Smith | F - Napheesa Collier
