Courtney Williams is a professional WNBA player for the Minnesota Lynx, as of August 2024. Williams’ journey to the WNBA started with co-ed tournaments when she was just 7 years old, where she was naturally skilled, beating girls as well as boys, a feat her father noticed from the get-go. Being a college player himself, he knew Williams had the genes to play at a high level as her mother was also a collegiate player, according to Andscape. She also had the best stint in her senior year, scoring 22.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. This performance led her to be selected as a WBCA Coaches’ All-American in 2016 and set the stage for her subsequent WNBA career. She was selected with the 8th overall pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft by the Phoenix Mercury but was traded to the Connecticut Suns. She won her first All-Star nomination in 2021. Williams averaged 10.4 points, 6.3 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game playing all 40 games for the Chicago Sky in the 2023 WNBA season.
