The six-time All-Star player DeWanna Bonner is a standout player who plays for the Connecticut Suns in the WNBA. Born on August 21, 1987, Bonner started her basketball career at Fairfield High School. Her outstanding performance at the school earned her recognition as a McDonald’s All-American in 2005.

After the success in high school, Bonner enrolled in Auburn University. At the University, Bonner not only pursued her basketball career but also studied psychology. She continues to flourish her basketball skills and improves her game every year. She became one of the most accomplished players in the school’s history.

With an exceptional performance on the court, Bonner achieved numerous accolades like leading her team in scoring as a freshman. In her senior year, she averaged 21 points, and 8 rebounds per game leading the SEC in scoring.

Her performance at Auburn also didn’t go unnoticed and she was named SEC Player of the Year in 2009. These accolades set the stage for her entry into professional basketball, where she would continue to make her mark as one of the most talented players in the game.

DeWanna Bonner's Wingspan

Height is also a major advantage for DeWanna Bonner as she possesses a wingspan of 7 feet 4 inches. This incredible reach, coupled with the fact that she is 6 feet 4 inches tall, places her in a position of strength over rivals in several facets that make up basketball. On defense, the advantage of long arms is seen though Bonner is not so energetic in this aspect as she can block shots and hinder the balls from being passed. She can stretch her hands over some relatively small players to block or change shots, fear being experienced among competitors. She also uses her wing span in grabbing rebounds as she can always reach out more than most of the players. On offense, Bonner’s reach is just as helpful. This makes it possible for her to stretch her arm and use her hands to fetch high balls that other players cannot reach. During shooting she has a long arm reach and this assists her to release the ball higher than her defenders. Her wingspan is also valuable in securing the basketball on the offense and getting the ball back by following missed shots to regain possession for her team.
