Emily Ryan is a women's college basketball player who plays as a guard for the Iowa State Cyclones. The 5 feet 11 inch guard began her basketball journey during her high school. Ryan attended Central Plains High School in Kansas and was already one of the best prospects during her high school days. As a senior in her high school, Ryan averaged a team-high 27.4 points per game while shooting an impressive 79.6 percent from the field. She achieved a historic feat by the end of her high school career as she became the third player ever to reach 3000 points in the Kansas State after Laurie Koehn and Jackie Stiles. After finishing her high school career, Ryan began her journey in college basketball with Iowa State University and played college basketball there. As a freshman in 2020-21, she earned the recognition of a unanimous selection in the All-Big 12 Freshman Team. She averaged a team-high 5.9 dimes per game, which ranked as 11th highest in the nation that year. In her sophomore year, she started all 35 games for the Cyclones as she averaged 13.1 points, a team-high 7.1 assists to go along with 4.1 rebounds a game while having 4a 7.1% field goal percentage. With her 7.1 assists a game average, Ryan had the third highest assist average in the country. In her senior year, she could only play 24 games because of an injury and averaged 11.6 points to go along with 6.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. After spending five years in college, Ryan has declared for the 2025 WNBA draft, where she is expected to be one of the top prospects (via her college roster page)
