Eric Thibault, born on August 22, 1987, is the head coach of the Washington Mystics in the WNBA. Before transitioning to coaching, Thibault was part of the practice squad for the Missouri Tigers women's basketball team. After two years, he chose to step away from playing and pursue a coaching career, initially serving as an assistant coach for the team. He further honed his skills by assisting other teams, including a stint with the St. John's Red Storm women's basketball team under Kim Barnes Arico. Thibault's first professional coaching role came as an assistant coach with the VCU Rams women's basketball team. In May 2013, he joined the Washington Mystics as an assistant coach, marking his entry into the WNBA.

After six years in that role, Thibault was promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2019. During his time as an assistant, he contributed to eight playoff appearances, including consecutive WNBA Finals appearances in 2018 and 2019. His efforts culminated in the Mystics winning their first WNBA Championship in 2019. In November 2022, Thibault was appointed as the 14th head coach of the Washington Mystics team.
