Breanna Stewart is expected to take the floor when the Mist BC face the Laces BC on Monday. The Mist forward had a lackluster Unrivaled debut by her standards on Friday against the Lunar Owls. Thus, Stewart would be raring to have a great game against the Laces. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, she should get the opportunity to redeem herself on Friday.
Stewart finished with just six points in her Unrivaled debut against the Owls. She shot just 2 of 11 and failed to convert any of her five 3-point attempts. She also had 13 rebounds, two assists and a steal.
While Breanna Stewart failed to impress, Lunar Owl's Napheesa Collier put forth a strong showing with 27 points in an 84-80 win. The Mist led 73-67 heading into the final quarter, but three consecutive 3s from Skylar Diggins-Smith gave the Owls the win.
Breanna Stewart scored first basket in Unrivaled history
While Breanna Stewart ended up being on the losing team, she should take pride in the fact that her name will always be etched in the history books not just as a co-founder of Unrivaled but also as the first player to make a basket in the 3-on-3 league.
However, fellow co-founder Napheesha Collier’s team had the last laugh. Collier said after the game, via Yahoo:
“I think this was a great first game just showing what we can do and showing what the experience can be like.”
